In Arabic, the phrase “bokra fil mishmish,” or “tomorrow, in apricot season,” conjures a sense of anticipation, of longing for something that only comes  along very rarely.

Our Story

Mishmish was also the childhood nickname of our founder, Mohamed, born and raised in Egypt. His journey began among the country’s artisans, farmers, and small workshops — people whose dedication and artistry shaped his understanding of true craftsmanship. After moving to the U.S., Mohamed envisioned a way to bring their exceptional work to a global audience, creating Mishmish as a bridge between heritage and modern design.

Many of our partners in Egypt are women artisans who serve as the backbone of their families and communities. Through direct collaboration, we help ensure sustainable livelihoods while preserving centuries-old techniques and artistry.
